Black Crows Headquarters
Lighting Design Capstone
Spring 2021
To finish my lighting design certificate, this capstone class consisted of creating a lighting scheme for an office building, with a client of our choice.
Photos acessed from Black Crows
Black Crows is a ski company based in France with ties to freestyle and backcountry skiing. This fictional proposal coincidentally was real, with the company currently in the process of making Denver its US based headquarters.
Pulling upon these company values, a lighting scheme was formed. Using varied mounting heights and winding fixtures, a mountain range is emulated in the lobby, and strong points of emphasis are made for the company signage.
Consideration for appropriate light levels and the lighting power density was taken, so that the project would be code compliant and energy efficient. AGI32 and COMCheck were used to verify this. Other factors included: control zones, daylighting zones, and paths of egress
The base floorplan and Revit files were given to us by the instructor for class use. Fixture placements and diagrams were created individually, by me.
